It's Not Goodbye...

For the next two months, this blog will be on hiatus as we work on completely revamping the blog. We've got lots up our sleeves and plenty more interesting reads for our followers.

Weekend Trip to San Diego

I love cafes. There's nothing better than catching up with friends over lattes and desserts while watching the world go by. This weekend I took an impromptu trip down to San Diego to visit, none other than my BFF, Carla. I love how we've always been able to pick up where we left off without missing a beat. The last time Carla came up to Los Angeles, she mentioned a cafe that she wanted to try the next time I was in the area. 

The Up2you Cafe was seriously cute. Despite their low average rating on yelp, I loved the cafe. The decor was girly yet trendy at the same time and everything was...cute.  Because it was their best seller, we both got the Honey Toast but tried different variations and toppings; honey toast with a nutella spread, bananas topped with vanilla ice cream and another one with condensed milk, strawberries and strawberry ice cream.

Lovin' These...

I was recently at my local DSW and a realization hit me, smack dab on the face like a punch. Sandal season is here and I'm not quite prepared for it! It was fate that I visited the store when I did. I was able to browse this seasons selection of sandals and to see what my options are.

Naturally, I was drawn to the gladiator style sandals. Why? Because, unfortunately, I have yet to find a pair that'll fit my wide feet and that won't cut into my ankles and my blood circulation. But, like every year, I'm determined that I'll find the perfect pair and won't stop looking till I do. Here are just a few styles I found both locally and online. Of course, I was shopping for something with a bit more color for my feet. But, I suppose, these tans/browns are perfect for toning down a brightly colored outfit. Plus, my newly bright and orangey-peach pedicured toes will pop out beautifully in these. It's time to prep those piggies, ladies, and get your pedi on. Yay, for sandal season!

Mesh Fronts & Peplum

One of the downsides to being plus size and having a large chest is that a lot times an outfit can more revealing than you had intended it to be. Unfortunately for me, I can't just tape up the girls and expect them to stay hidden behind the panels like someone with a smaller chest can. To transform this V-cut mesh top into something daytime appropriate, I've paired this with a shape-wear bra underneath. It'd be a shame to cover it up completely when the top clearly calls for exposed skin.
